When a student exits a school to transfer elsewhere, he or she requires a withdrawal code along with an exit date.  Each of the withdrawal codes describe a different and unique scenario.  They should be attached to a student record according to the reality of the situation at time of exit.

For high schools, certain withdrawal codes require that schools upload specific items of documentation to EIS.  Otherwise, transferred students may remain included in the cohort of the original school.

The withdrawal codes are listed beginning on page 17 of the EIS Appendices (attached) along with descriptions.
